Inspire Others with Your Aspirations

Saying that Emily was overzealous in environmentalism might be considered an understatement. If she was nothing else, she was eager to share her passion for the environment in a way that ignited hope and inspired others.

In her online profile, Emily didn’t simply state her desire for a cleaner planet; she painted a vivid picture of a future where sustainability and environmental stewardship were ingrained in society.

I was amazed that she walked a fine line, avoiding political statements that might have shut some out of her life. Instead, she approached it as a flawed human being.

She shared an innocent story from her childhood, where she witnessed the devastating effects of pollution on her local community. This gave the audience a clear understanding of her predicament. Then she shared her vision of vibrant green cities, renewable energy powering every home, and a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.

This narrative not only captured her audience’s hearts but helped them understand why she grew up with the beliefs she now held. And, having approached the topic without political commentary, she motivated her audience to take some form of action in their life — leading to a great wave of supporters cheering her on.

Visionaries can see beyond the present, envisioning a future filled with possibilities. When we share our aspirations with authenticity and clarity, we tap into this power and create a ripple effect of hope and inspiration. By articulating our dreams in a visionary manner, we invite others to join us on the journey and actively participate in making a positive change.

Expressing our aspirations in our profile helps us suggest to others how to combine dreams with purposeful action to bring about transformative results.

“Action without vision is only passing time, vision without action is merely daydreaming, but vision with action can change the world.”

Nelson Mandela

There are five strategies worth assessing to communicate our aspirations online.

Strategies for Sharing Aspirations as a Visionary

1. Craft a Compelling Narrative: Share your aspirations through storytelling. Paint a picture of the future you envision, emphasizing its positive impact on individuals, communities, or society. Engage your audience’s imagination and emotions, allowing them to see and feel the transformative power of your vision.

2. Be Authentic and Transparent: Share your connection to your aspirations. Explain why your vision is meaningful to you and how it aligns with your values. Being authentic and transparent inspires trust and creates a genuine connection with your audience.

3. Provide a Call to Action: Move beyond merely stating your aspirations. Consider encouraging others to join you in your journey and take action. Whether it’s through volunteering, raising awareness, or supporting relevant initiatives, provide a clear step to actively participate in bringing your vision to life.

4. Showcase Progress and Impact: Update your profile to highlight your progress and the positive impact your vision has generated. By demonstrating tangible results, you inspire hope and build credibility, motivating others to believe in the possibility of change.

5. Foster Collaboration and Community: Emphasize the importance of collaboration in realizing your vision. Encourage dialogue, invite diverse perspectives, and create a community around your aspirations. By involving others and fostering a supportive network, you generate a collective force that can drive meaningful change.

Update Your Profile

When updating your online profile with your visionary aspirations, remember to craft a compelling narrative that engages the imagination and emotions of your audience. Share your connection to your vision, explaining why it is meaningful and how it aligns with your values. This authenticity will create a genuine connection with your audience and inspire them to join you on your journey.

As you embark on this journey of sharing your visionary aspirations, remember that each individual has the power to make a difference. Your online profile is a gateway to inspire others and drive positive change. Embrace your unique vision, share it with authenticity and passion, and watch as hope spreads and collective action brings your aspirations to life.

Together, let us shape a future filled with possibility, driven by the power of visionary thinking and a shared commitment to creating a better world.

The New Season of Creative Mindfulness

I remember the changes that occurred in business when upper management altered its focus to an innovative mindfulness called a paradigm shift. Every executive I knew was searching for a new way of looking at processes and conducting business. Changes in operations led to consolidations and the tossing out of unneeded practices. Even sales teams shifted their selling techniques to fit the changing marketplace.

During the fourth quarter of last year, a new mindfulness started to appear. Fresh research was published by Linked-In, Adobe, and the Forrester Group. All of the results and documentation pointed to the emergence of this new mindfulness being that of creativity. Executives at Fortune 500 companies started to pay attention to the fact that creativity was directly correlated to business success.

In his new book, Creative Calling, releasing on September 24, 2019, Chase Jarvis shares how the practice of creativity in business will soon be established as a standard for a healthy employee. The creator of the Creative Live website takes it a step further by insisting that creativity will be considered just as important to each day like exercise, nutrition, and meditation.

For this very reason, I have shifted the focus of this blog and my new podcast to help people grow their creative thinking and abilities. We are all born with creativity, which is seen in every child prior to them starting school, where we are taught to focus on logic.

The logical side of life is tactical in nature and the creative side is strategic. It didn’t take long for business futurists to figure out that within another decade Ai technologies will replace the vast majority of tactical jobs, leaving only strategic and creative positions available for people.

To help people start increasing their creative abilities and thought processes, Jarvis illustrates in his new book the I.D.E.A. system.

IMAGINE

The imagination can create hope and a vision for our future. By improving one’s ability to imagine things, a businessperson can bring clarity to new processes and gain an understanding of what is required to implement that new future. The imagination can also drive an individual’s focus to clarify their intentions on how to proceed.

DESIGN

Jarvis’ design phase is all about establishing a daily practice and conforming our lives to support expressions and transformation. The average person in business today fears change and is hesitant to move forward in what appears to be a blind expedition into the unknown. However, the strongest employees are the ones who are at the forefront of creating change.

EXECUTE

Creativity isn’t innovative or more than just a concept unless it is fleshed out. The businessperson has to learn how to execute their innovation, turning their vision into reality. Even the most ambitious plans can be accomplished one step at a time when a businessperson learns how to execute creative ideas.

AMPLIFY

The business world has turned into a community that requires the participation of many hands for the out-rolling of new projects, products, and services. Finding ways to impact our partners and engaging our communities, increases our productivity and success rate. This amplification process provides a natural byproduct of replicating the best part of ourselves in others.

Developing our own creative thoughts and abilities is critical for our survival in the coming years. This is due in part to the unprecedented challenges in our economy, environment, and technology. We can’t erase the past that put a powerful computer/phone device in the hands of every business person, so we must learn and master what the device can’t provide us—CREATIVITY.

Mentors Breathe Inspiration into Creativity

Movie_Theatre

My Home Town Movie Theatre

When I mentor young filmmakers in how to develop their style and breathe life into their films, I often watch their eyes close me out from their thoughts. They are adamant about making sure the film is theirs and they don’t want anyone to give them a helping hand. This is problematic for a collaborative art form.

The idea of inspiring someone to a higher level of art can only come from words of encouragement, difficult moments of challenge, and the sharing of conceptual ideas. The word, “inspire,” means to “breathe into” or to “infuse with life by breathing.” That means someone has to do the breathing of new ideas to help the filmmaker get his mind cranking.

The creative process requires an environment of ideas, enthusiasm and energy. These are tools that help us gain experience from others and expose our minds to various styles and artistry. The shared wealth of history creates a powerful form of influence that brings the young filmmaker to a higher level of art than his or her counter parts ever achieve. Yet, Millennials seldom want to collaborate.

Inspiration of Mentors Stir Our Heartfelt Voice

The best thing that happens in a collaborative process is the deep sense that your own ideas demand to be heard. From deep within the gut comes this voice begging to resound. The inspiration of mentors draw out those deep ideas from within us and we suddenly find a way to express them. The inspiration brings our ideas to the surface so we can take action.

Unfortunately some people think that when you share a creative idea with the hopes of inspiring them, they think you want them to use your idea. But that is far from the truth. The mentor only wants to get the filmmaker thinking about something they never finished thinking about—that special something that resides deep within their heart.

I was mentoring one filmmaker who wanted to create a world that lacked water. The scarcity drove many to kill for a single cup of fresh water. The original script had a sign in it that made the idea of water scarce, but I suggested he find a way to demonstrate the rarity of water instead.

His latest cut of the film had the water sewn throughout the entire story as the key driver of all decisions made by every character. It became obvious that the liquid was such a rare commodity that everyone’s life changed in the presence of fresh water. Within that setting his protagonist could then mature and become a person who questioned his selfishness and chose to demonstrate love sacrificially.

While I gave him a handful of ideas that were plausible to demonstrate the scarcity of water, he was inspired enough to come up with his own unique ideas. Not one of my suggestions made it into the film, which was good, because my goal was to inspire his convictions and expressions. His choices worked.

The Journey of Understanding

Film is an emotional medium that comes from the heart. Those who hold to conservative standards make conservative films. Those who understand the liberal first and then make conservative films takes the audience on a journey that ends with a conservative view that makes sense to all, not just those with likeminded ideologies.

By finding inspiration from both sides of the political spectrum, a filmmaker becomes more powerful in the messages he can send to an audience that’s hungry for answers to the latest societal issues. But closed-minded conservatives who only focus on their views can present nothing of value to the liberal.

And what good is a film that only reaches the likeminded?

Film is not necessary when used as a tool of validation. It’s only necessary to help opposing viewpoints be understood. When film demonstrates the potential results of an idea, while touching the emotions of everyone watching, the audience is able to buy into the concepts and consider how they might apply within their own life.

For this reason I hangout with liberals and conservatives. I read both sides of every issue. And, I create paths through story that will take an audience to the life-breathing conclusion that cries out to be heard. These actions breathe creativity into each viewer so he or she is capable of altering their life with healthier choices.
